Faith: FAITH: James 2. Faith without works is dead
The Core MessageDead Faith vs. Living Faith: James uses the example of seeing a hungry, freezing person and saying, "I'll pray for you, hope you warm up," but doing nothing to actually help. That is "dead" faith—it is hollow, all talk, and completely useless.Even Demons Believe: James points out that even demons "believe" in God and tremble in fear, but they don't obey or love Him. Therefore, intellectual belief isn’t enough. The Examples UsedJames proves his point using two contrasting figures from the Old Testament:Abraham: He demonstrated his faith in God by his absolute willingness to sacrifice his son, Isaac.Rahab: The Canaanite prostitute proved her faith by risking her life to hide Israelite spies
Family: How can our actions reveal what we truly believe?
In what areas of your life is your faith visible through deeds?
How can Christians avoid having a passive or inactive faith?
What needs around you might God be calling you to address?
How should this passage affect the way you view service and generosity?
What practical steps can I take this week to put my faith into action?
Politics: Spencer Pratt loses ground to Democrat while Hilton maintains lead in latest California ballot batch drop
