FFP EP 157! THE BOOK OF JAMES: WARNING AGAINST WORLDLINESS Featuring: Joshua Cummins, Jon Goble, Jim aka Darmak and Dana Christensen. #fatih #family #politics #fun #bible #jesus #james3 Faith: James 4:1-12 addresses the root causes of conflict, urging believers to turn away from worldly passions and submit to God. It warns that fights stem from selfish desires, calls for humility instead of pride, and reminds readers that only God has the authority to judge others. Family: The Source of Fights (v. 1-3): Conflicts and quarrels come from selfish passions battling within us. Often, we do not get what we want because we fail to ask God, or we ask with the wrong motives (e.g., to spend it on our own pleasures). Friendship with the World (v. 4-6): James warns that being aligned with the sinful patterns of the world makes one an enemy of God. However, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submission and Repentance (v. 7-10): Believers are commanded to submit to God, resist the devil, and purify their hearts. He calls for a genuine humbling of oneself before the Lord, who promises to "lift you up". Warning Against Judging (v. 11-12): Speaking evil of or judging others is described as speaking against the law itself. James concludes by stating there is only one Lawgiver and Judge, asking: "Who are you to judge your neighbor?"
