FAITH:
1. 1 Corinthians 3:11 — Christ Is the Foundation
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Meaning:
Paul makes the foundation unmistakable: Jesus Christ is the foundation. We can build our careers, relationships, political beliefs, finances, and even religious practices on many things—but none of them can serve as the ultimate foundation.
When the storms of life come, whatever isn't built on Christ eventually proves unstable.
“The Rock on Which We Stand” means:
Our faith isn't ultimately standing on our feelings, our ability to understand everything, our circumstances, or another person. We stand on Jesus Christ.
Faith question:
If everything I currently depend upon were taken away, would Jesus still be enough for me to stand?
2. Psalm 18:2 — God Is Our Rock
“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust…”
David doesn't merely say that God gives him strength. He says God Himself is his strength.
Notice the progression:

• Rock — stability
• Fortress — protection
• Deliverer — salvation
• Strength — endurance
• Trust — faith
  David's confidence isn't ultimately in his own ability to survive the battle. His confidence is in the God who stands above the battle.
  “The Rock on Which We Stand” means:
Faith isn't believing that we will never experience trouble. Faith is believing that God remains our Rock when trouble comes.
  Faith question:
  When life becomes unstable, do I run first to God—or first to everything else I think can protect me?

3. 1 Corinthians 10:4 — Christ Is the Spiritual Rock
“…and that Rock was Christ.”
Paul makes a remarkable connection between Israel's experience in the wilderness and Christ.
Israel depended upon God in the wilderness. They received water from the rock, and Paul identifies that spiritual Rock as Christ.
This teaches us something profound: Christ wasn't merely God's plan after everything went wrong. Christ is at the center of God's redemptive work.
“The Rock on Which We Stand” means:
Christ isn't simply an addition to our lives. He is the source from which our spiritual life flows.
We don't merely visit the Rock when we're in trouble.
We build our lives upon Him.
Faith question:
Is Jesus the foundation of my life, or is He someone I turn to only when I need help?
4. Isaiah 26:4 — Trust the Rock Forever
“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
Isaiah gives us the response to everything we've seen:
Trust Him.
Not temporarily.
Not only when things are going well.
Not only when our prayers are answered the way we want.
Forever.
Why?
Because God's strength is everlasting.
Our strength changes.
Our circumstances change.
Our health changes.
Our relationships change.
Our finances change.
Our understanding changes.
God does not change.
“The Rock on Which We Stand” means:
We can stand firmly because the Rock beneath us is more permanent than anything happening around us.
Faith question:
Am I trusting God because He is faithful—or only because I expect Him to give me the outcome I want?

1 Corinthians 3:11 — What Is Your Family's Foundation?
1. If Jesus is the only true foundation, what foundation is our family actually being built upon?

Psalm 18:2 — Where Does Your Family Run for Refuge?
1. When our family experiences fear, where do we instinctively turn?

1 Corinthians 10:4 — Is Christ Central to Your Family?
1. Do we treat Jesus as the center of our family or merely one part of our family's schedule?

Isaiah 26:4 — Can Your Family Trust God Forever?
1. Why should a Christian trust God when God doesn't answer a prayer the way we wanted?
