FAITH:

How do we protect our faith in Jesus when our beliefs are challenged by doubt, suffering, culture, false teaching, or difficult questions?
In this sermon, we explore why the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith and why Paul says that if Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile.
But Christianity doesn't ask us to believe blindly. Scripture calls us to know what we believe, understand why we believe it, examine the evidence, and be prepared to give a reason for the hope that is within us.

The Christian faith ultimately doesn't rest on our feelings, our ability to argue, or the opinions of others.
It rests on Jesus Christ.
He was crucified.
He was buried.
He rose again.
HE IS RISEN.
And because He is risen, our faith has a foundation, our forgiveness has a foundation, and our hope has a foundation.

FAMILY:

1. If someone asked you, “Why do you believe Jesus actually rose from the dead?” could you give them a biblical and historical reason—or would your answer simply be, “Because I have faith”?

2. If the resurrection were proven false, what would happen to your faith? Would you still consider Christianity true? Why does Paul place so much importance on the resurrection?

3. When you encounter a difficult question, criticism of Christianity, or a season of doubt, do you investigate the question—or avoid it because you're afraid of what you might discover? What does Thomas teach us about bringing our doubts to Christ?

4. If Jesus really rose from the dead, what should that fact change about the way you live today? Are there areas of your life where you say you believe in the risen Christ but live as though He isn't Lord?
