FAITH:
Biblical Truth, Holiness & Christian Liberty
Should Christians celebrate Halloween, or does participation conflict with biblical faith? In this episode, we examine Scripture in its full context to understand what God says about occult practices, walking in the light, Christian freedom, and the responsibility to glorify Him in everything we do.
Through Deuteronomy 18:9–14, Ephesians 5:1–16, 1 Corinthians 10:14–33, and Romans 14:1–23, we explore the difference between what Scripture explicitly condemns and what Christians must prayerfully discern. Are we compromising biblical truth to fit in with the culture, or are we turning personal convictions into commands God has not given?
Our goal is to stand firmly on God's Word, reject genuine spiritual darkness, exercise Christian liberty responsibly, and approach disputed matters with humility and biblical discernment.
Key Scriptures: Deuteronomy 18:9–14; Ephesians 5:1–16; 1 Corinthians 10:14–33; Romans 14:1–23.
FAMILY:
How should Christian parents approach Halloween, and what are we teaching our children through the traditions we embrace?
We examine the responsibility God gives parents to teach His Word, cultivate holiness, and prepare their children to recognize the difference between good and evil. Rather than simply following cultural traditions or imposing rules without explanation, Christian families must learn to apply biblical principles with wisdom, consistency, and grace.
We discuss how parents can establish convictions, address occult themes, evaluate entertainment, and demonstrate Christlike character toward neighbors who hold different beliefs. Whether a family chooses to abstain from Halloween entirely or participate in selected activities, the priority must remain faithfulness to Scripture and the spiritual development of the next generation.
Key Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4–9; Ephesians 6:4; Matthew 5:14–16; 1 Peter 1:14–16.
The Bottom Line
The Bible does not explicitly prohibit every activity associated with Halloween, but it clearly calls Christians to reject occult practices, pursue holiness, and glorify God in everything. How can we remain faithful to biblical truth while exercising discernment, respecting conscience, and loving our neighbors?
Join the conversation as we examine what Scripture teaches and consider how these principles apply to our faith, our families, and our daily lives.
Discussion Question: How should Christians distinguish between what God has forbidden, what He has permitted, and what requires wisdom and personal discernment?
